Update, long overdue!

Well it has been a crazy month. I'm sure most people feel that way around this time of year. I have been busy trying to get all of my christmas project done. I always plan a lot of projects for christmas. They all manage to get done, but some years I wonder if the will. The kids are really excited this year for Christmas. We put our christmas tree up the saturday after Thanksgiving. I wrapped a couple of presents that night and put them under the tree. The next morning Kyston ran into our room and asked if Santa had come. We told him no. He insisted on checking the tree to see if there were presents. He came running back into our room so excited. "Santa brought presents!!" It took a little bit to explain to him that Santa doesn't come until Christmas Eve. This year is going to be fun.

I have a project that I have been working on for quite sometime now. It kinda got pushed aside when I started Christmas, but finally my wonderful husband decided to help me finish it. Being the awesome painter that he is, he finished it for me. This is how it turned out.
Thanksgiving was with Dustin's family this year. It was tons of fun, and of course way too much good food. The guys took naps afterwards and we did crafts with the kids. Aunt Lacey got these adorable gingerbread man that the kids decortated with fabric clothing. They had a lot of fun. Then of course friday was my annual black friday shopping day. I usually go with my mom and my sisters, but the decided to go to St. George instead, so I invited my wonderful friend Jessica to brave the early morning crowds and the freezing cold weather. It was tons of fun and we got done really quik this year. I think Jessica might be hooked! We'll have to do it again next year :)

Since it has been so cold this year, my kids were pretty excited about their new coats. They had to bundle up and wear them around the house. For a couple of weeks it was so cold outside, that we didn't go anywhere unless we had too.

Remembering Scott!

I want to wish my little brother Scott a Happy Birthday. He would have been 17 today. I wish I could post a picture, but my scanner doesn't work. It has been 9 years since we saw him last and he is greatly missed. He was such a happy friendly little boy. He always wanted to make others happy when there were sad and he was willing to help out with anything and everything. I still remember Scott and Kaylee following each other around like they were joined at the hip, they were the best of friends. I will never forget the work Christmas party for Murdock Apparel that Scott came to with me. I was feeling pretty bummed that I didn't have a date, can't really remember why(probably a flaky boyfriend!!). I ran to walmart after work to get a few things and my mom happened to be there with my little brother and sister. I was telling her that I didn't have a date and Scott offered to come and be my date, so I wasn't a loner. He was really good at seeing when someone needed a friend or when someone was sad. There are so many other stories that I could share, but that's all for now. I can't wait till I can see him again and give him a great big hug. He was and is a great example to me. Happy Birthday Scotty. We love and miss you very much!!

Beggers in Idaho Falls.

Dustin and I were in Idaho Falls today getting a few things. We came up on a stop sign and there was a lady standing there holding a sign that said "Stranded, need to get home, anything will help". Lucky us, we got stuck there for quite a while, which I hate because they just stair at you. So I started feeling really bad for this lady while we were sitting there eating our hamburgers, I really thought about giving her some money.(Don't judge me for not giving it to her, there is more to the story). So we had a few more stops to make, then we ended up at our last stop about an hour later at Walmart. We were standing in line to check out and Dustin leans over to me and says "look behind me", so I did. There was the lady we saw on the corner. She was at walmart, not buying food or clothing or something she might need. No, she was buying 3, not just 1, 3 DVDs. I couldn't believe it. This lady that supposedly is stranded and needs money to get home is buying dvds. I was so glad I didn't give her any money. Why are people so dishonest these days. Then when we were pulling out of the parking lot we saw her again. She had a pickup that obviously runs, because they drove it from the first place we saw her to the second. Her husband was also with her. He gave her some change while she was in line at the store and then went to another part of the store to wait for her.
I wish I had a camera, so I could take a picture, so you all would know what this lady was really using your money for.

Vanessa

Today we are grieving the loss of my 10 week old cousin. Her parents sadly had to say goodbye to her last night. She fought a great battle, she is a strong spirit. We never got the chance to meet, but we love you deeply. Our thoughts and prayers are with Darrin, Andrea, Justin, Kyle and Brooke. Be strong and know that Heavenly Father is with you. We love you guys.

Update

Well September is almost over. I can't believe how fast it has went. We have been busy with the fair, church callings, our business, and of course our family. We have had dinners with friends, which have been so much fun. We have had friends that have had babies, congratulations Jason and Erin, and Doug and Christina, and Lee and Kelly. And friends that wish they have had thier babies, hang in their Misty. I also had a cousin get married, I am excited for him. Congratulations Orlando and Bailee .We have started story time again, which the kids love and it has been warm enough to still play at the playground for play group. We also babysat for a friend this month. we really enjoyed Imree and Koye. Bring them back anytime Libbie. We had a special birthday celebration in Island Park for my nephew, Tucker's 6th birthday. It was tons of fun and always good to see my uncle Kevin. We have been really busy, and had lots of fun this month, hopefully we can enjoy the rest of the month as much. Now a short update on the family.

Kyston will be four in a couple of weeks and he is so excited. Unless he is tired, he is a happy, crazy kid. He has tons of energy and willing to help out with anything around the house. He loves to read books, ride bikes, play geo tracks, play in the sandbox, play with his sister and our dog Charli, and talk on his cell phone (its fake, but he has quite the conversations) He is in Sunbeams in primary and loves going to his class. He and his best friend Koye are the only boys in a class of ten kids. He gets very excited to go to grandma's house or to the cousins houses. Kyston has quite the sense of humor and is always trying to make people laugh. Sometimes he does it without even trying. A few weeks ago we were at my parents house. We were standing around talking in the kitchen. Kyston was spinning around, kinda doing his own thing. He stops spinning and looks up and says as serious as can be " Who's moving the house". It's so funny what kids say sometimes.Kyston loves his little sister and is always trying to teach her and protect her.

Brindley just turned 2 in August and is getting more and more fun. She has quite the personality. She is a pretty independent little girl. She likes to try and dress herself and she has to climb in the car herself.
She loves reading books, playing with and dressing her babies, playing trucks with her brother, riding her bike and singing. She is getting easier to understand everyday and usually if we can't understand her, Kyston can. She loves our dog Charli, she gives her hugs all the time. Brindley loves to be outside, she loves to cuddle at bed time and nap time and occasionally at other times. She likes to tease. She will hold her hand out so you can give her five and then she pulls it away fast and says "too slow" and then giggles. She is getting a lot more social and more smiley. She is in nursery and loves it. It takes a few minutes each week to get her to stay, but then she is fine.

Dustin just turned 28 this month. He stays very busy with our business and helping anyone out that needs help. He is willing to do whatever he needs to if someone is in need. Dustin is in the Elders Quorum presidency in our ward. I think he really enjoys it and the guys that he works with. Dustin loves to fish and snowmobile and can't wait till snow flys.

Well I have been busy being a mom. I enjoy spending time with my kids. Some days can be rough, but most of the time it is very entertaining. I am in Young Womens as the Beehive advisor. I love getting to know the girls and I think I learn more from them, then they could ever teach me. I absolutely love the other leaders in Young Womens and I am so grateful for thier friendship and for the opportunity I have to get to know them better. I also am in charge of play group for our ward, which we do once a week. It is a lot of fun. My kids love to get away from our house and play with some of the kids from church in the middle of the week. I enjoy helping Dustin with our business, and in my spare time, making bows, dresses, flowers, pretty much anything with fabric or ribbon that I can create. I also scrapbook some and blog.

Well hopefully that wasn't too long, just a little update about us.

Happy Birthday!!

Well I just wanted to tell my wonderful husband "Happy Birthday!" His birthday was actually yesterday, but I didn't get time to sit down and do a post, so its a day late. Hopefully he had a great day. The kids were so excited to give him their presents and cards that they made for him. Kyston couldn't wait for dad to get home, so that he could have some of his Rice Krispie cake that we made for him. So hopefully he had a great day and doesn't feel too old.
